Member Covenant

Wholly indebted to God for our salvation and right standing before him, having believed in the Son of God, Jesus the Christ, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and fully relying on the gracious help of the Holy Spirit without whom there is no hope or desire of righteous living or carrying out the promises made herein, we, the members of Redeeming Grace Fellowship, do solemnly and joyfully enter into this covenant with one another before our Holy God. Therefore:

We will PRAY without ceasing for the unity of the Spirit, for the welfare of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ both inside and outside our fellowship, and for the gospel to go forth;

  • (1 Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 4:3; Matthew 6:9-13; Matthew 9:37-38)

We will LOVE one another, even as Christ loved us, as becomes the members of a Christian Church, exercising an affectionate care and watchfulness over each other and faithfully exhorting and admonishing one another as occasion may require;

  • (John 13:34-35; 1 John 4:7-8, 11-18; Galatians 6:1-2; Colossians 3:12-17)

We will MEET with one another regularly and even more as the Day approaches, unless providentially hindered;

  • (Hebrews 10:25; James 4:13-17)

We will LIVE in community and fellowship with one another, rejoicing with those who rejoice, mourning with those who mourn, and in all ways helping those who are in need among us, considering others as more important than ourselves;

  • (Acts 2:42-47; Romans 12:15; 1 John 3:16-18; James 2:15-16; Philippians 2:3-4; Romans 12:3)

We will MAINTAIN family and personal devotions, religiously educating our children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord, which is an especial responsibility of fathers;

  • (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4)

We will PUT TO DEATH sins, ungodliness, and worldly lusts in our lives by Divine aid, so as to live in a manner worthy of our Lord and Savior and to strive to be holy as God is holy, remembering that we have been voluntarily buried by baptism and raised again from the symbolic grave which now obligates us to lead such a new and holy life;

  • (Romans 8:12-13; Titus 2:11-14; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Romans 6:4)

We will SHARE the good news of Christ by working together for the continuance of a faithful evangelical ministry, advancing the causes of this church, its work and mission in the community and in the world;

  • (1 Corinthians 12:4-7; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 2:10)

We will also SHARE the good news of Christ by regularly contributing to this church for the expenses of the church, relief of the poor, and to further the kingdom of God throughout the world, knowing that we are but stewards of that which God has given unto us;

  • (2 Corinthians 9:6-15; Malachi 3:6-12; Deuteronomy 15:7-11)

We will further SHARE the good news of Christ by witnessing to a dying world of the grace of God that is found in Christ Jesus and by seeking the salvation of our family, friends, and acquaintances both with words of boldness and truthfulness and deeds of love;

  • (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 2 Corinthians 5:18-21; Acts 4:12; 1 Peter 3:15; Acts 4:29; Zechariah 8:16-17)

We will JOIN another church of like mind, as soon as possible after moving from this place, so that the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word may be carried out;

  • (Hebrews 10:25)

Prayerfully pleading for the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of the Father, and the presence of the Holy Spirit to be always with us. AMEN. Come, Lord Jesus!

  • (Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 2:14-21; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 13:20-21; Revelation 22:20)
